About us
GASODUCTO BAJANORTE, S. DE R.L. DE C.V. is the company responsible for the operation of the 225 kilometers (140 miles) of 30-inch transmission pipeline.
This pipeline company is a subsidiary of Sempra Energy Mexico
S.A. de C.V., which has invested $870 million in various projects
in Mexico that involve energy distribution, transportation,
commercialization and generation.
At Sempra Energy Mexico:
- We have more than 240 local employees to operate our existing businesses.
- We operate three gas distribution companies in the cities of Mexicali, Chihuahua, and La Laguna-Durango that serve more than 130,000 consumers since 2004.
- We operate two gas transportation companies that together have 260 kilometers of pipeline and a capacity of more than 15,600,000 m3 of natural gas to Baja California.
- We operate the most efficient and cleanest power plant in Mexico. The 600-megawatt (MW) Termoelectrica de Mexicali project is a combined cycle power plant that uses clean-burning natural gas and advanced emission control equipment.
- Our parent firm, Sempra Energy, operates companies with a combined total of more than 200 years in the energy industry.
- We are a Mexican company that is actively involved in supporting the communities in which we work.
